Research Week
Each year the Baptist Health's residency programs compete in our own “Research Week” competition. Each resident physician is required to participate in research week and to present their poster to a group of faculty preceptors and extramural judges. Residents choose a case report, a quality improvement project, or a clinical research study format for their presentations. Residents compete at the program level and receive a “Book Money” allowance for placing in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place.
The 1st place winners from each program in both the case report and research study/ QI project categories the compete against each other in our final competition for our two main awards which are both significant cash prizes.
The Alan M. Siegal, MD, MACP Award for Best Case Presentation was named in honor of one of our long term, distinguished faculty in Internal Medicine.
The Robert A. Kreisberg, MD, MACP Award for Excellence in Research was also named in honor of one of our long term, distinguished faculty in Internal Medicine who also served as the Program Director for Internal Medicine.
The winners from each program are strongly encouraged to submit their posters for consideration at poster competitions in their specialty. Residents awarded a presentation opportunity, from a adjudicated specialty meeting, receive Baptist Health's financial support to attend and participate in the conference.
